Eschewing the traditional three-piece suite can be a much simpler design strategy than you might think. One way to create a cohesive yet eclectic look is to harness a mishmash of chairs, sofas and daybeds from different eras and in different styles and materials but the same color. The owners of this modern family room have combined a classic Eames chaise with a modern daybed and a simple sofa, but all in shades of white for a harmonious mood. White will always create an easy-on-the-eye look, but make sure you use hard-wearing materials and washable or wipeable fabrics if yours is a busy family home.
I like the flared sides on this piece as well as the tone-on-tone pillows. Ready for snuggling, this daybed invites you to stay awhile. My favorite thing about the Emmerson daybed is the wood structure. I‘m picturing this piece on a sitting porch or even in an extra-large foyer. Available in several fabric options, this daybed has a great boxy shape that contrasts with the roll pillows. You can opt to add a trundle bed beneath its skirt. For a classic rolled-arm shape but on a more flexible piece, here is the Afton daybed. I think it has a great shape that could tempt even the most traditional decorator to break the rules.
This multicolored ikat pattern gives you lots of color inspiration for the rest of your room. I would pair it with more neutral upholstery, and pull out some of the brighter colors for sofa pillows or curtains. Geometric with sleek lines, this chair is perfect for adding a modern touch to your space. A pair of these would look great with a crisp white sofa. This chair could double as a piece of art with its unique lines. The vintage suzani print will add a big splash of color and pattern to any room.
This is a fun version of ikat, and this pretty slipper chair comes in three colors. This not only adds a punch of pattern, but also folds up, making it the perfect extra seat when you have guests. The classic shape of this chair paired with the tailored skirt makes this a pretty choice for a reading corner or bedroom. This chair can be customized in lots of different fabrics, but I think this pattern with the sleek lines gives it a regal feel. This brightly colored gingham chair is lots of fun. It would make a great lounge chair for a kids space or playroom.
